Thirty (30) players played on frozen greens and tundra.  Temps were in the low 40s.  Jim Kyttle’s and Bill Kushay’s teams tied the Front (-2).  Chris Bushey’s and Dirk Schultz’s teams tied the Back (-2).  Bushey and Kyttle’s teams tied the Total (+1).

 

Ten (10) golfers were in the Sub-80 category today.  Chris Bushey and Dirk Schultz tied for medalist at 74.  One shot behind (75) was Bill Kushay and Pat Steiner.  Also, Ed Rachor posted a great score of 77, especially considering the frozen conditions, and 7 of the 8 teams played the ball down 🙂

Eight (8) golfers participated in one of the coldest days the Gang has experienced in quite a while.  Temps were in the low 20’s, not much sunshine and winds hovering around 15 mph all day.  On top of that, the greens were frozen (as expected)!  Billy Reed’s team had a clean sweep (+2, +1, +3 total).   Tim Steiner (75, medalist) and Jim Young (78) were the only golfers to break 80 today.  Jim’s alcohol-to-air mixture was a little too rich on the back nine as he failed to make a par on that side, but he had three (3) birdies overall, including a chip-in on the final hole!  Pat Steiner (842) overtook Donnie Barton (836) for the Governor’s Cup Lead.  Donnie had a big week last week to overtake Pat, but it flip-flopped back today!

The Clubhouse will be closed tomorrow due to the cold weather. We expect a decent size gang for Freaky Friday (Heat Wave – High of 32!)

Thirty-two (32) players enjoyed a mild late-Fall day with immaculate greens!  Hawk’s team won the Front (-5).  Chris Rhodes’ team won the Back (-3).  Hawk, Chris Rhodes and Jim Young’s team tied the Total (-1).  Several players had great rounds and 15 players were in the Sub-80 category.  Craig Goebel was medalist with a 72.  Bruce Levin had a personal best with a 76.  Mex Sanchez snapped out of his funk and shot 76.  Jim Young shot 74 on the course but double-bogeyed his final game of BINGO (coverall) by shouting “Bingo” after 42 calls – he only needed 12 more numbers for coverall!!!!

Tomorrow (Thur Dec 21st) forecast looks good – 45, Sunny and No Wind. 2-Ball Gross Gang sign-up by 10:30am.
