Calendar of Events

Twenty-nine (29) golfers played on an overcast Fall day with moderate winds and temps around 45.   Bill Kushay’s team got the “sweep” today (-5, -3, -8 Total).  Tim Steiner (69), Pat Steiner (72) and Greg Deck (73) led the individual scoring today.

 

AROUND THE HORN:

>> Since the handicap computers are turned off and the course is still wet, we will continue to play “Hawk Rules” for the remainder of the off-season (until at least March 15th).  We will roll the ball everywhere (1-club length no closer) except in marked hazard areas.  In bunkers, you have the option of rake and place “in” the bunker, or you can take the ball out and play it behind the bunker keeping it on-line with the pin.

>> Greg Deck is now on The Governor’s Naughty List.  Check out his score today versus when he played with The Governor last week!

>> TJ Jones continues to hold down 1st Place in the Governor’s Cup # 3 Standings.  Donnie “El Segundo” Barton is a close second 10 points behind.

Twenty-four players enjoyed a sunny, crisp Fall day with temps in the high 30’s.  Dirk Schultz’s team dominated most of the action (-3, -5, -8 Total).  The Big Dog (Dirk) led the scoring with 67.  Sonny Montgomery (71), Tracy Piper (72) and Pat Steiner (73) also had nice rounds.

 

AROUND  THE  HORN:

>> The word in the Captains’ Room today was if your name started with “M and ended with “X”, you might want to avoid picking them!

>> The Big Dog (Dirk Schultz) finally broke out of his slump in this gang!  He’s been playing decent but getting shut down until today.

>> The Governor might need a remedial “refresher course” in  Captain’s  School  101.  He’s either picking bad or getting unlucky with his picks recently.

>> TJ Jones holds a miniscule 2 point lead over Donnie Barton in  Governor’s  Cup  3 standings after today.

Sixteen (16) golfers battled strong winds and cold weather today with temps in the 30’s!  Tim Steiner’s team won the Front (-6) and Total (-11).  Pat Steiner’s team won the Back (-6).  Tim Steiner (66), Tracy Piper (71), Pat Steiner (72) and Dirk Schultz (72) led the individual scoring today in one of the strongest fields ever!  Greg Deck, who is often-times a Captain, was the bottom player on the selection list today!

Twelve (12) players enjoyed a decent Fall day on a long, wet course.  Vic Campbell’s team won the Front (-4).  Jim Young’s team won the Back (-2).  Vic and Jim’s teams tied the Total (-4).  TJ Jones (72) and Jim Young (73) were the low scores for today.

Twenty-eight (28) golfers played on a beautiful late Fall day with sunshine and temps near 55.  Four golfers really enjoyed the round … Chris Bushey shot 66 (6 birdies and an eagle) and his team swept with (-5, -6, -11 total).  In addition to Chris’s 66, Pat Steiner (73) and Bill Kushay (73) were the low rounds today.

Twenty-eight (28) players got one last round of golf in before the Winter Storm which dropped 6″ of snow the following day.  Tracy Piper’s team got “the sweep” and possibly set a WWFF record by winning the overall score by 10 shots over the 2nd place team!  They shot (-2, -4, -6 Total).  Tracy Piper (74), Tink Moats (74) and Rich “Coco” Walsh (75) were the low individual scores today.

Nine (9) golfers took advantage of a cloudy but decent day with temps around 43 today (and light winds).  The three teams all got part of the “action”, but Rich “Coco” Walsh’s team got the lion’s share with (Even, -2, -2 Total).   Pat Steiner (71) and Vic Campbell (74) were the low rounds today although 7 of the 9 players shot in the 70’s today!
