Billy Reed shot 4-under par 68 today and won the 2019 WACO Championship by three shots over Ryan Crabtree and Chuck Thatcher.  Kenny Winfield won the Senior Division with 73-73.  Jamie Shaw won the 2nd Flight with 83-76.   Dave Crumbacker won the 3rd Flight with a second day 78.

Forty-one (41) golfers played on a decent Winter day with temps near 50 and winds 10-20mph.  The greens have “firmed up” and the scores have “went up”!  Pat Steiner’s team won the Front (+1) and Total (-2).  Finley Benjamin’s team won the Back (-6).  Pat Steiner (74), Finley Benjamin (74) and Jim Kyttle (74) were the low individual scores today.

The Governor had a good comeback round today after enduring a tough 81 the day before.  His team played well too, and he closed the gap to 26 points on TJ Jones (1st Place).   Check out Mike Butts powering a drive through the wind on Hole 6 today:

Twenty-two (22) players battled on another cold (40 deg) and windy day at The Beav!   Jim Young’s team won the Front (Even).  Pat Steiner’s team won the Back (-4).  Jim and Pat’s teams tied the Total (-2).  Pat Steiner (68, 5 birdies) and Dirk Schult (70, 3 birdies and 1 eagle) were the low individual scores today.

“Black Cat” Mex Sanchez had another good round today with a 75.

So did the other “Black Cat” Greg Deck (77).

“Maximum” Tissue (76, 4 birdies) had another solid round today and is quickly closing in on TJ Jones for 2nd Place in the Governor’s Cup 3!

The Wild Irish Rose started on Hole 19 today and had a much better round (80, 1 birdie) although his driver is maxxing-out at about 175 yards!

The Governor is glad that February is over!  That month is traditionally “Screw The Governor Month”, and it pretty much held true this year!  He is looking forward to March!  He plans to play tomorrow (by himself) and collect another $20 towards Governor’s Cup 3  🙂

Forty (40) golfers played on a cold, breezy day with temps around 40.  Tink Moats’ team won the Front (-2).  Jim Young’s team won the Back (-5).  Jim and Jason Moore’s teams tied the Total (-5).  Billy Reed (68), Max “Hole-In-One” Tissue (72) and Justin Case (72) led the individual scoring today.

Max Tissue “aced” the Par-3 Hole #12!  He also made a huge leap in the Governor’s Cup 3 Standings, closing to within 63 points of the lead!

Mex “Black Cat” Sanchez had a nice round of 73 today … watch out – Mex is getting hot again!

The Wild Irish Rose doesn’t like starting on Hole #15.  The Governor says he should start on Hole #19 🙂

Twenty (20) golfers enjoyed a pleasant, breezy Winter day.  The course has dried out from the monsoon over the weekend and the greens were sneaky fast!  Pat Steiner’s team won the Front (-7). Dirk Schultz’s team tied Jim Young’s team on the Back (-4).  Dirk’s team won the Total (-9).  Dirk Schultz (66), Jim Young (71), Pat Steiner (72) and Tracy Piper (72) were the low individual rounds today.  “Black Cat” Greg Deck shot a solid 74 and appears to enjoy playing with Tracy Piper and not The Governor!  However, The Governor jumped back into first place in the Governor’s Cup 3 Standings.
