After a 1-week course closure due to snow, The Beav re-opened today! Twenty (20) players battled a long course and breezy conditions. Pat Steiner’s team won the Front (-2), Total (-6) and tied Mike Raley’s team on the Back (-4). Pat Steiner (71), Mike Raley (73) and Bill Kushay (73) led eight (8) golfers in the Sub-80 category today.
Zack Attack and Jim Young’s teams have been non-factors of late … mostly because Dr. Smirnoff has been AWOL. Those guys are nothing with Smirnoff!

MASTER’S DAY-1 @ THE BEAV: Thursday, April 5, 2018
Tournament details: The Masters tournament at Beaver Creek is something that we want all members to be involved in. The format will be 6 holes of scramble, 6 holes of alternate shot, and 6 holes of best ball. All scores will be calculated through net handicap! Team skins and closest to the pins on par 3’s will also be included. This tournament will be a 2 player format (Choose your own partner). Partners’ handicaps must be within 10 shots of each other. Teams will be broken down into different flights based on their combined handicaps. First and second place will be paid in each individual flight.
Entry Fee: $30.00 (cart not included)
Time: 10:30 Shotgun
Sign up deadline: Tuesday April 3rd
After Party: The actual Masters tournament will be played in the bar area. We will also have the projector set up so that everyone can watch the first round coverage on ESPN starting at 3PM. Food and drink specials will also be available at the 19th hole.
Food and Beverage: $2 domestics, $2.50 import beers, and $1 off all mixed drinks. The 19th hole will also be offering a special on wings for 99 cents per wing and homemade pork BBQ!

Tournament details: Friday’s format is going to be the regular 2 Ball Gross with a little kicker. Teams will be picked just as they are on regular 2 Ball Gross days. The kicker is that we will be taking your teams 2 Ball Gross score and pairing you up with a player from Masters. All the top players from Thursday will be put into a hat and after the round your team will draw a player’s name. The score of the player you draw will be added to your team’s 2 Ball Gross score.
Entry Fee: $30.00 (Cart not included) For those concerned with where their money is going… $28 will be for the tournament (At Beaver Creek) and only $2 will be going toward the player your team picks afterwards (Masters player).
