Twenty (21) players enjoyed a decent Winter day with very little wind! Max Tissue’s team won the Front (-2). Pat Steiner’s team won the Back (-1). Max and Pat’s teams tied the Total (+1). Pat Steiner (71), Max Tissue (72), Rodger Grimm (75), Ed Middlekauff (76), Sean Crain (77) and Greg Henry (79) led the scoring in the 70’s today.
Hawkism #1: Hawk is playing with Martha Serig and Tony Caprinola last year. Tony had just joined The Beav. They get to the first tee and Martha asks Hawk “Who is this Tony C?”. Hawk replies “I don’t know but he must not be any good … he was the last guy on the list!”. Unfortunately, Tony was standing about 5 feet away and heard the entire conversation 🙂
Hawkism #2: Today on the first hole (putting), Hawk walks over to Greg Deck and says “See this guy (pointing again to Tony C)? He knocks every putt either 10-feet past the hole, or leaves it 10-feet short. Again, Tony is about 5 feet away and hears the conversation 🙂
Hawkism #3: Last year, Hawk walks out of the Captains Room. Pat Steiner (who wasn’t playing) asks Hawk “Who did you get on your team today?”. Hawk replied “There was no one any good left on the list when I picked! I got Donnie Baker and Dewey Whitmore. Unfortunately, Donnie and Dewey were standing right beside Pat at the time. Then, Hawk realizes it and says “Hey, you guys are with me today!”. Donnie and Dewey were “pumped and thrilled” 🙂
