Nineteen (19) golfers played on a warm Fall day, temps near 70, light winds and fast greens.  Neil Gagnon’s team won the Front (Even).  Denny Stoner’s team won the Back (-3) and Total (-2).  Denny Stoner (72, 4 birdies) and Neil Gagnon (77) were the low rounds of the day.

 

Wicked Wednesday (10/24/2014) and Freaky Friday (10/26/2018) will be sign-up by 10:30am and tee off at 11:00am. This will be the “normal” time for MM, WW and FF for the remainder of the Fall/Winter.

Thirty-five (35) golfers endured some tough conditions today … aerified greens which are still healing, a semi-wet/long course, and winds of 20-30 mph.  Pat Steiner’s and Maximum Tissue’s teams tied the Front (Even).  Jamie Shaw’s team won the Back (Even).  Max and Jamie’s teams tied the Total (+1).  Max Tissue (72), Arman Brick (74) and Rod Steiner (76) were the low scores today.

 

AROUND  THE  HORN:

>> The Governor appears to be attempting to skip the transition to GOLD tees and move right up to the BLACK tees.  Another round today in the 80’s, including a missed 1-foot putt which cost his team the outright win of the front nine.  He plans to finish the last few chapters of Bill Kushay’s book this weekend (100 Ways to Miss Short Putts and Keep Smiling).

>> Arman Brick needed to make a 6th birdie today and his team would have cashed a much bigger paycheck!

>> BBB figured he had “The Royal Cruise Line” with his team today!  TJ Jones was overlooked in the Captains’ Room picking today due to a computer operator error.  He is normally a “Captain” or “B” player, but dropped to a “mid-D” player today by accident.  Apparently, BBB told TJ he was the “D” player, so TJ promptly responded with a smooth 88!  However, TJ was laughing his way to the Cashier’s’ Window when he picked up 1 of the 5 “clears” today.  So “The Royal Cruise Line” was “The Titantic” in disguise!

>> And speaking of “The Titantic“, Bill Kushay’s team was 1-under par and in great shape to win the back nine with only 2 holes to play.  Unfortunately, the “ship” hit an iceberg the size of Rhode Island!  They finished triple-bogey, triple-bogey on the last two holes (yes, +6) and another ship was lost at sea in Beaver Creek’s “Bermuda Quadrangle” (holes 13, 14, 15 and 16).  Today, it was holes 15 and 16 where they finished.
