Calendar of Events

Friday The 13th brought out 54 players and some strange happenings!  James Scarberry’s team won the Front (-4) and Total (-3).  Pat Steiner’s team won the Back (-3).  James Scarberry (74) and Bill Kushay (74) led the scoring today!

Here were some of the strange happenings today:

• Lt. Governor Donnie Barton remains on a roll … shot 75 today and validated his recent “Captaincy”.
• Dixie McNaney’s not going to be nominated for “Mom of the Year”.  In one of the last groups to post, she knocked her son Kyle McNaney out of a clear!
• There were three (3) eagles today:  Vincent Steiner (Vagner), Dave Walker and Paul Sweeney.  Vincent’s eagle was his “career first” and when he hit his 9-iron approach to Hole 6 (Par-5), his Dad (The Governor) watched his ball sail to the green while Vincent watched his 9-iron clubhead sail 50 yards forward while holding a “headless” shaft!  The shot ended up 18-feet from the pin and Vincent drained the putt!  Below is a picture of the club and head:

• Dr. Smirnoff was said to be “a quart low” today!  He was in some dark places (see below):

Fifty-Nine (59) players took part in Wicked Wednesday today.  Temps were pleasant and in the 80’s with mild winds.  Bill Calhoun’s team won the Front (-8) and Total (-10).  Billy Reed’s team won the Back (-5).   Bill Calhoun (70) and Billy Reed (70) were the low scores today.

There will be a 2-Ball Gross (Thirsty Thursday) Gang tomorrow (7/12/2018). Sign-up at 11:30am.

Pat Pickett hitting his second shot on Hole 2 today.  His ball is hanging in a small tree about 18 inches above ground.  He hit it with a driver to the opposite side of the fairway. Then hit his third shot to 140.  His fourth shot was on the green, and he made a 7-foot par putt!

*** Marc Worton shot his second career round in the 70’s today (79) – both times while playing with The Governor.  Today’s round featured a chip-in birdie AND AN ALBATROSS (DOUBLE-EAGLE) “2” ON THE PAR-5 HOLE #6 TODAY!!!  Congratulations Marc!!!

> Lt. Governor Donnie Barton continues his inherited curse from The Governor (who had two bad/unlucky months back in April and May).  Donnie’s unlucky streak looks like it is continuing from June to July!
