In a special edition 2-ball gross match, Tim Steiner’s team had a clean sweep with -4, -3 (-7 total).  Tim was the medalist with a 70 (2-under) and 5 birdies.  Volkoff eagled #2 and Billy Reed eagled #9.

On perhaps the last “good” day for a week or so, 32 players played in 60 degrees and 15-25 mph winds.  Course conditions were nice, but scoring was difficult due to the wind.  Dirk Schultz’s team won the Front (-4).  Pat Steiner’s team won the Back (Even).  Bill Kushay’s team won the Total (Even).

Also, Dirk Schultz’s team set two (2) dubious records today in the 2-Ball Gross Gang history.  First, they recorded 52 shots total on holes 11 and 12.  (Par for 4 players would be 36 on the two holes).  Second, they had to count a quadruple bogey eight (8) on Hole 12.  It is believed that this was the first ever quadruple that a team had to count as one of the two balls.

Dirk Schultz was the medalist today with even par 72.  Ten (10) players managed to shoot 79 or less today.

On the last day of February 2017, 25 golfers enjoyed another fabulous Winter day!  Pat Steiner’s team dominated the action winning the Front (-1) and Total (+1), while splitting the Back (+2) with Bill Hoffman and Bobcats’ teams.   Bill Hoffman and Mike Butts were the medalists with 76.  Larry Lowman shot a 79 with 3 birdies and a total of 25 putts!  Bobcat, on the other hand, had a 2-Ball Gross record on 43 putts en route to his 84!  Jim Young’s quest for the GREEN TEEs got derailed again!

The beautiful weather continues at Beaver Creek. 58 players were in the field as Brian Crabtree’s team (-2  E  -2) dominated the action, tying the Front and winning the Total. The Front (-2) was split 3-ways between Brian Crabtree, Caleb Hudlow and Chris Cantone’s teams. The Back (-2) was split between Pat Steiner and Randy Cree’s team.  Bill Kushay (36-38-74) led the “Sub-80 Scoring”, as 18 golfers were in that group.

Another “bonus day” of golf in winter as the conditions were beautiful. 39 players enjoyed the golf. Rod Steiner’s team (-1 -3 -4) won the Back and Total. The Front (-2) was tied between Dan Allen’s team (-2 +3 +1) and Jim Young’s team (-2  +2  E). Walnut Towers would be proud of the two 79-year old boys who led the “Sub-80 Scoring”. Oaks (40-36-76) with 3 birdies, and Max Tissue (38-38-76) led 12 golfers in that group. Their rocking chairs will be going “full tilt” tonight.

Another great day at The Creek … sunny, breezy and 50 degrees.  The greens were crisp, smooth and sometimes treacherous!

Eight (8) players played a modified “gross ball” game.  There were four 2-player teams.  Only 1-ball was needed on Par 4s.  2-balls were required on Par 3s and Par 5s.   Mex Sanchez and Vic Campbell dominated the action by winning the Front (Even), splitting the Back (Even), and winning the Total (Even).  Tim Steiner and Dixie McNaney tied the Back (Even).
